Ruth Starr Rose was an artist whose work was represented at Weyhe Gallery. She was also a friend of Carl Zigrosser and his family. Her frequent and friendly letters to Carl Zigrosser detail the progress of her work, exhibitions, and sales. She also writes about he family life, their mutual friends, her many homes (especially Pickbourne on the Eastern Shore of Maryland), and her thoughts on southern landscape, southern life, spiritualism and entertaining. Ruth Starr Rose did work for the American Artists Group, and travelled in the American West, Mexico and Europe. Most of her letters are undated. Included in the file are exhibition announcements and catalogs. Some. letters are addressed to Florence King, Zigrosser's first wife.
